The film flopped badly despite Amitabh Bachchan having a special appearance in the film. He was splashed all over the film's posters. Even that did not convince the audience to come see the film. It took a poor opening.
Raakesh Kumar was having trouble selling the film so he added Amitabh to the script. This was done so he could use Amitabh's name to get the distributors to pay better money.
The film was released in Diwali of 1987.
Amitabh Bachchan was sung by Kishore Kumar and this is the only Usha Khanna composed for Amitabh Bachchan.
