Abhishek Bachchan was signed for Fardeen Khan's role but opted out.
The second remake of the Tamil language film Kushi (2000) after the Telugu language Khushi (2001). All three films were directed by S.J. Suryah, meaning he essentially directed the same film three times in a row with different actors in four years.
Fardeen Khan acted with Navin Nischol. This was something his dad Feroz Khan did not get the chance to do.
The film had a theatrical release in Canada.
Actor Ranjeet related a story about Feroz Khan and Anil Kapoor's brother Boney Kapoor. In the late 70's a drunk Boney Kapoor was chasing and bothering Prema Narayan at a party. Prema approached Feroz Khan and told him that Boney was harassing her and she needed help. Feroz sprung into action and grabbed Boney Kapoor. Feroz Khan punched Boney Kapoor and Boney fell out of a window. It was shocking for many in industry that after that incident, Anil Kapoor was working with Feroz Khan in Janbaaz. Later Boney Kapoor worked with Fardeen Khan in Khushi.
