TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Brook based this production on ideas expressed by Polish theater critic Jan Kott in the book "Shakespeare, Our Contemporary".

The song sung by the fool at the end of Act III, Scene 2 is not present in Shakespeare's script. This song can be found sung by the fool in "Twelfth Night" in the closing scene of Shakespeare's script for the play.

Filmways also produced Tony Richardson's " Hamlet" and the 1968 version of " A Midsummer's Nights Dream ". They had planned to film the Polanski " Macbeth " , but pulled out at the last minute.

Irene Worth plays Paul Scofield's daughter despite being 6 years older.

Popular Dialogues

"[first lines] King Lear: Know that we have divided In three our kingdom: and 'tis our fast intent To shake all cares and business from our age; Conferring them on younger strengths, while we Unburthen'd crawl toward death."
