Due to his exclusive contract with another label, none of Chuck Berry's songs - including his duet with Bo Diddley at the end of the film - appear on the original soundtrack LP.
This film was largely credited with re-energizing Bo Diddley's career which was in the doldrums at the time.
Shot in three days at three of Richard Nader's Rock Revival productions.
As was all too typical of the era, most of the performers are black, yet the audience is almost entirely white.
"Chuck Berry: [singing] Hail! Hail, rock 'n' roll! Deliver me from the days of old, Long live rock 'n' roll! The beat of the drums, loud and bold, Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll!"
"Chubby Checker: Does everybody feel alright? Everybody feel alright? Come on, everybody, clap your hands! Come on! Come on. Ah, come on! And everybody say: yeah yeah! Crowd: Yeah! Yeah! Chubby Checker: Ah, yeah yeah! Crowd: Yeah! Yeah! Chubby Checker: Ah, yeah yeah! Crowd: Yeah! Yeah! Chubby Checker: I wanna sing my song. It won't take long. We're gonna do the Twist, And it goes like this! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
