The holiday season gets extra chilly as Loki and the frost giant Ymir plot to conquer the world. Marvel heroes Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor and others must stop the villains from stealing Santa's power – if anyone can actually find the mysterious Mr. Claus. Fortunately, Rocket Raccoon and Groot are also hot on Santa's trail. Heroes, villains, elves and cosmic bounty hunters collide in an epic quest that leaves the fate of the holiday and the world in the balance.

The characters, along with Avengers Tower, are modeled based on how they appear in the movies. As of yet, Captain Marvel and Reptil have not appeared in a movie.
This special debuted shortly after the debut of the feature film, 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' which features Groot and Rocket Raccoon. They are depicted here as a team of bounty hunters and have not yet joined up with the other Guardians.
Reptil appears in this special as a "Junior Avenger" being trained by the veteran heroes. Not to be confused with Reptyl, a long time enemy of both the Avengers and Silver Surfer.
The green woman to whom Tony gives a small box is She-Hulk, Hulk's cousin. In the comics, she and Tony have a romantic relationship.
Believe it or not, Santa appearing in this special is actually supported by the comics, as he has been established as real in the Marvel Universe.
"Iron Man: Is there any way to do this without hugging? Hulk: This hug is saving your life. Iron Man: Then I'd rather perish! Thor: As would I. Captain Marvel: Stop complaining and hug for your life!"
