TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The scene where Charlie throws himself out of the car was done in only one take.

The glasses that Michael Bowman (Whitey) wears are his real-life glasses, including the little microscope on the end.

In the breast-feeding scene, Jim Carrey unknowingly suckled on Shannon Whirry's actual right-breast that contains real milk. He was so humiliated that he had to clear the studio before each take while apologizing to her, which is what she didn't ask for. This is surprisingly ironic because Carrey would openly admit that he is a breast-man, while Whirry had no qualms about pulling off "wet-nursing" stunts because she had previously been in several erotic movies since the year after the film's script was completed.

In the scene where Charlie and Irene are pushing the car off the cliff, Jim Carrey says "On nine" and counts to nine very fast. This was ad-libbed, and for a moment, Renée Zellweger looks obviously surprised.

Jim Carrey ad-libbed the moment when he asks his sons to kiss him before he leaves. One of them looks obviously surprised.

Popular Dialogues

"Hank Evans: You know, I think you're a very special unit. Irene P. Waters: That's sweet. Hank Evans: I hope we get to know each other better. Irene P. Waters: Yeah, me too. Hank Evans: Do you swallow?"

"[In the roadside eatery, a kid with glasses is slurping his drink annoyingly, and then Charlie transforms into Hank] Hank Evans: What are you staring at, fucker? You wanna start me up? Just open the choke and pull the cord, pal. I'm due for a seismic event and you're dancing on the fault line. Kid's Father: [the father stands and approaches] Hey, what is your problem, pal? Hank Evans: I got no beef with you. This is between me and the kid."
