Egyptian Mythology
Based on the Egyptian Mythology Marvel introduces us to yet another character, Moon Knight. Like Spider-man we are introduced to Moon Knight after he becomes one. Moon Knight is played by Oscar Issac and is a very perplexing character. The series is more about the end of the hero rather than the beginning as MCU usually does. The series begins with the character Steven Grant, a mild-tempered man with a very monotonous life. But there is something that is making his life not so boring. We see him wearing ankle straps at night. It seems he has the habit of sleepwalking or rather sleep fighting. This is a mind-bending saga where you get to see untethered scenes that somehow bring everything together. Marc Spector is another character played by Oscar Issac. Juggling with Egyptian Gods “Khonshu” and ‘Ammit’ the Moon Knight is struggling to find his way out. He is supposed to take the ultimate revenge on Khonshu but is constantly interrupted by Arthur Harrow the follower of Ammit. Why would he want to take revenge? Watch the series to know.
Why should you watch Moon Knight?
Moon Knight is a very confused bumbling character. At the start, everything seems like a mess but slowly with each minute, the mess starts turning into this stunning picture. Issac plays the character of Moon Knight very distinctly. He blends the depths and buzz of mental illness, a multi-layered personality, and a superhero. The two-mind personality has been remarkably shown in this series. The combination of a superhero with his own deviant struggles has been beautifully chalked out by Marvel. Watch it for Issac but also to know more about whatever Marvel has planned for the upcoming movies. Arthur harrow the villain with a goldy purpose has been played by none other than Ethan Hawke. May Calamawy who plays Layla offer a great balance to the show.
Watch Moon Knight for its alternate reality and dystopian afterlife projection. Viewers will love the comic elements blended with serious baffling scenes.

For the scenes where Steven and Marc interact with each other, rather than have Oscar Isaac try to act against a green screen stand-in or an extra, Marvel hired Isaac's brother, the journalist-actor Michael Benjamin "Bro Dameron" Hernandez, to serve as his double as a way to help Isaac act opposite himself. Isaac said during a 'Moon Knight' press conference that his brother is the closest thing to him there is on earth. This way, Isaac was able to seamlessly differentiate between the characters and was able to feed off of Hernandez's energy, as if he was acting against himself.
Oscar Isaac told Empire magazine in February 2022 that he invited his neighbor, Ethan Hawke, to play the role of Arthur Harrow in 'Moon Knight' after bumping into him at a coffee shop in Brooklyn during the COVID-19 pandemic and after watching Hawke in The Good Lord Bird (2020). Isaac is also an executive producer on the series.
Arthur Harrow, the main villain in the show, was a minor character who appeared in just one issue of the "Moon Knight" comics, the second issue of Volume 2, which was published in April 1985. The show's creator Jeremy Slater said during a Q&A in his Twitter account on March 29, 2022, that Arthur Harrow was chosen as the main villain for the show because Moon Knight's only recognizable villain was Bushman, who just felt too close to Black Panther's Erik Killmonger, so they decided to create a new villain instead. Slater also said that Ethan Hawke in particular was instrumental in creating Harrow.
Since Marvel Studios decided to set "Moon Knight" in London to differentiate it from the many other titles set in New York City, Oscar Isaac decided to give Steven Grant a high-pitched, British accent, even though that wasn't indicated in the script. Isaac's British accent was criticized by the audience as soon as the first trailer was released. Isaac explained that he put on a London English accent for Steven that he suggested was intentionally bizarre and unconvincing. He was inspired by the accents of the Jewish community living in Enfield, London, as well as English comedians such as Karl Pilkington and Peter Sellers.
Since the show is about Egyptian mythology and is set within an Egypt-related plot, the cast includes many actors of Egyptian roots. May Calamawy, Antonia Salib, Sofia Danu, Amr Al Qadi, Hazem Ehab, Ahmad Dash, Khalid Abdalla, Usama Soliman, Zizi Dagher and Karim El Hakim are all Egyptian actors or of Egyptian roots. The show is directed by Egyptian director Mohamed Diab and his wife Sarah Goher serves as a consulting producer. Egyptian composer Hesham Nazih serves as the composer of the show. The ending credits include visuals of Egypt such as the Pyramids of Giza and Cairo Tower. The show also features Egyptian songs, both classical and contemporary.
