In the comics, the zombies were created by the Hunger Virus, which allowed them to retain their minds but be victims to a hunger for flesh that was purely psychological. Here, it's a virus from the Quantum Realm that corrupts the limbic system and renders the victims mindless animals.There's another major difference. The Hunger Virus is absolute and cannot be cured; healing factors eventually give out fighting infection. The Quantum Virus can be CURED; with the Mind Stone's power.
