Animated series titled “What If..?†presents alternative tales in parallel universes that are distinct from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we are familiar with. The series has an incredible voice cast. Most of the characters are voiced by the same actors who appeared in the live-action MCU films. However, some of them have new voice actors. Nonetheless, the characters are well portrayed and have been done justice. Unless the credits are examined, the new voice actors won't be noticed. It was great when all stories culminated in one awesome story at the end of the show. This was an unpredictable aspect as at first when the viewers watch the series it only seems like the series is showing different possibilities in each episode. The animation is commendable because it had really distinctive styles for movements, visual effects, and a lot more. The series is indeed full of surprises and keeps you engaged throughout.

Chadwick Boseman's last Marvel project before his death.
An episode pitch involving the Guardians of the Galaxy was suggested for the first season, but it had to be scrapped after A.C. Bradley was told that she had inadvertently written half the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
Uatu was initially conceived as being a cold, stoic observer of the show's alternate realities. After Jeffrey Wright described the experience of watching Marvel movies with his kid however, the character was re-written to have a warmer and more devoted interest in what he was watching instead.
There was going to be an episode that would've consisted of Spider-Man turning into an actual spider, but the idea was scrapped as A.C. Bradley found the idea to be far too dark in comparison to the rest of the series. The above event also has already occurred in the reality portrayed in the comics, in Marvel Fanfare #2. The writers also considered an episode for the series that would've had the Avengers as dinosaurs, but rejected it for being too silly.
This series is a direct concept adaptation of the Marvel comic book series of the same name that explored various divergent concepts in the Marvel Universe. It had different volumes (1977-1984, 1989-1998, 2005, early 2006, late 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018).
The series is the first animated production from Marvel Studios.
The show's animation style is 'cel-shaded' to reflect the look of the films.
This was Chadwick Boseman's final performance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
More than 50 MCU actors returned to voice their characters for the first season.
