Afghan people were not happy with the film's trailer as it portrayed the Maratha's as the winners of the battle. Moreover they felt that recent films like Kesari (2019) and Padmavat (2019) have shown Afghans as cold-blooded murderers.
Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman are to work in a film together after 39 years since Insaaf Ka Tarazu (1980).
All costumes for the film have been made with exceptional attention to detail, such as the Peshwa Pagdi and the Afghan Jackets, based on old paintings found in museums.
2800 jewelry pieces were used for the film.
Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Bahl, and Padmini Kolhapure acted together in Bekaraar (1983) during their early days. They will been seen together in a film 36 years later.
