TRIVIA

Trivia

In 2010 Robo Warriors Makeup Department Head, Mr. Barney Burman, won and Academy Awards Oscar for Best Achievement in Makeup for Star Trek (2009).

The abandoned Clark Air Base was used as a location for filming the post apocalyptic landscape scenes. The base was previously a United States military facility, operated by the U.S. Air Force under the aegis of Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and their predecessor organizations from 1903 to 1991. The base was a stronghold of the combined Filipino and American forces during the final months of World War II and a backbone of logistical support during the Vietnam War until 1975. Following the departure of American forces in 1991, said to be due to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, the base became the site of Clark International Airport, the Clark Freeport Zone and the Air Force City of the Philippine Air Force.

Shielu Bharwani and Barney Burman met during the filming of Robo Warriors, and later married.

Robo Warriors star James Remar (playing Ray Gibson) and James With aka James Wearing Smith (playing Brian Douglas) first worked together on The Quest (1996), a movie that was filmed in Thailand and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Roger Moore. Remar requested With as his supporting actor in Robo Warriors.

Robo Warriors director, Ian Barry, interviewed James With (James Wearing Smith) by telephone after receiving his audition materials. With was interviewed whilst he was working at the Warner Bros. Studios located on the Gold Coast, in Australia on The Phantom (1996), a Paramount Pictures, United International Pictures (UIP) production starring Billy Zane, Kristy Swanson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Treat Williams and James Remar as a double for the character of Quill played by James Remar.
