TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

A dialogue that Sanjay Dutt's character was to deliver to Amitabh Bachchan's character. The words he needed to deliver were "Chutiya" meaning from the vagina, this is a slang hindi word. Out of respect for Bachchan, Dutt was unable to deliver this dialogue despite being encouraged by Bachchan. After a few unsuccessful attempts the dialogue was changed.

The film is based upon the real-life gun battle between gangsters and Mumbai Police, which occurred on November 16, 1991.

Amitabh Bachchan surprised the movie unit by recording 23 scenes in 5 hours. Achieving this feat was unheard of.

'Sunil Shetty' replaced Arjun Rampal after he walked out of this project.

Vivek Oberoi was quite appreciated for his performance but in negative role and was nominated for all the awards but won for IFFA and AXN awards.

Popular Dialogues

"Mrs. Dolas: I know, what you guys are doing... You all are not the police, you all are killers! Shamsher Khan: Is your son Mother Teresa?"

"Javed Shaikh: Ah, the f-word. As usual used with an utter lack of relevance or context to that most basic of human acts, which it so explicitly and yet so succintly describes. A sad but unavoidable linguistic travesty in these modern times!"
