Roger Corman had his actors positioned for a ski run down a mountain of virgin snow. When he called for action on his bullhorn, however, the sound waves started an avalanche. No one was hurt, but Corman was frustrated by this unplanned event. There was only one thing he could do. Corman raised the bullhorn to his mouth and ordered his crew to "Stop that snow!"
Filming began immediately after Beast from Haunted Cave (1959) had finished production. This film used the same location and featured much of the same cast and crew.
Filmed in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The decision to shoot the film on location there was partly influenced by financial incentives offered to Roger Corman by the Chamber of Commerce in South Dakota.
