TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

During the scene where Prophet Josiah (Jason Isaacs) is walking into church followed by the others to give mass after being confronted by Miguel (Eduardo Noriega) about his sheep. The suns actual lighting coming in through the entrance of the Chapel created the natural rays coming through the doors. The crew got lucky when filming the shot and hurried to start rolling the cameras to capture the actors walking in front of the sunset for the beautiful, natural lighting.

While filming the final gunfight scene between Sheriff Jackson, Prophet Josiah and Sarah Ramirez in the sheep pen where Ramirez is hiding from Josiah. Cinematographer Brad Shield used a telescopic boom lift that had a bungee attached to it to support the weight of the camera to get in for the tight hand held shots on January Jones scurrying inside the pen.

In the scene where everyone is eating dinner and Sheriff Jackson carves into Josiah's precious table to explain the disappearance of Levi and Jacob. Several table tops were used for different takes to remove the etches Ed Harris created. During the off camera carvings, a basic piece of small flat wood was used so the original table was not damaged.

In the scene where Sheriff Jackson (played by Ed Harris) shoots Kingfisher (played by Luce Rains) in the hand after roughing him up at the sheriffs office, Ed Harris accidentally fired a shot very near to Luce Rains face during one of the takes. Rains was not injured since the guns were props and were only loaded with blanks.

During filming in the Sante Fe Location Ed Harris would drive himself to set.

Popular Dialogues

"Prophet Josiah: I will bring you the Holy Land. I will provide for you and take care of you in every way. Sarah Ramírez: Sounds like hell."
