Puneet Issar plays a character very similar to the one he played in Purana Mandir (1984). He even uses the same name - Anand.
The film's lead actor Kamran Rizvi was murdered by his cousin due to a family dispute in May 31,1990. When Kamran was a little boy, his father divorced his mother to marry the sister of Farha and Tabu's mother. Farha and Tabu's mother's sister ( Kamran's new step mother) had another sister who was a widow. That widow had two children. A son named Zulfikar and daughter named Yasmin. Kamran Rizvi's father migrated to Canada with his new wife and invited his new wife's widow sister to visit them. It was then Kamran's father proposed marriage his wife's sister. Being a Muslim he could have two wives. Her children Zulfikar and Yasmin were in shock and angry at this news. It was reported that Yasmin attempted to overdose on pills. Zulfikar was known to be a hooligan and had a very violent temper. He went to Kamran to ask him to talk to his father to stop the proposed marriage. Kamran stated he had no control on the situation. Finally the straw that broke the camels back was when Zulfikar's mother returned from Canada.. married to Kamran's father. Zulfikar went to receive his mother at the airport. He dropped her off at the hospital where his sister Yasmin was recovering and went straight to meet Kamran Rizvi with a knife. This is when Zulfikar stabbed Kamran Rizvi outside his house, after a huge heated argument. He threw the knife and attempted to flee to Hyderabad with his mother and sister. He was apprehended by the police shortly after the incident.
