IMDbChester Tam wrote this script in 2008, 4 years after his car was stolen via Craigslist. He also plays 'Jay' in the film and directed it on a $2M budget from Netflix.
Chester Tam's directorial debut.
The title of the film 'Take The 10' is in reference to Highway 10. Residents of Southern California typically add the word 'the' in front of freeway numbers.
During the men's room brawl, after Chester violently stabs Jay's right hand on the bathroom tile floor, the knife apparently affixes Jay's whole arm to the floor. The camera shows Jay's stabbed right hand four times -- twice the hand appears palm down and twice palm up.
"Officer Peterson: [to Carlos] Better lawyer up. I always wanted to say that."
"Chris: What are you scalping? Johnny: Strokes tickets at The Greek. Chris: Are they even real? Johnny: Uh, yeah. They're totally real. They're Ticketmaster approved. [simulating sound and gesturing of ejaculation] Johnny: All over your face! Chris: Is that what you sound like when you're coming? Johnny: Yeah."
