TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Was originally titled Bone Deep. The director liked the "We're takers, gents" line from Idris Elba's character so much he changed the name to Takers.

The first and last exchange between Idris Elba's character and Paul Walker's character are exactly the same, albeit the lines are switched the second time around.

According to T.I., who played Ghost in the film and was also a producer, there was a sequel in the works to this movie that would have actually been a prequel that highlighted the original heist the crew performed that is referenced in the film showing Ghost getting caught and going to prison. The original cast would have lead roles in this sequel-prequel, but plans for that were scrapped when Paul Walker died. Harris commented there was no way anyone wanted to go ahead with a prequel without Walker out of respect and love for him.

The car Paul Walker's character drives is the same car that is in the Dominican Republic garage scene in Furious 7 (2015) also starring Walker.

The characters John Rahway played by Paul Walker, and the Attica brothers played by Chris Brown and Michael Ealy are all named after prisons. Attica is in Upstate New York. And Rahway Prison is in New Jersey.
