TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The "crisp new five pound note" Bill offers to buy the gun near the beginning is actually a Duke of Wellington five pound note that was in circulation from 1971 to 1991. This was probably to add to the city's anonymous nature by also obscuring what era the film is set

Only one cinema in the entire UK (The Prince Charles Cinema in London) showed the film during the opening week following release.

A copy of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland plays a prominent role in the film. Evidently, it is an anthology collecting both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking Glass. Characters recite lines from both books in an impromptu manner on occasion. The strip club is themed around the White Rabbit character from the book.

This movie features Mike Myers' first appearance in a live-action feature film since Inglourious Basterds (2009).

While Annie and Bill are in the diner discussing suicide, Annie pulls out a bottle of "Victory gin", the drink of the Proles in George Orwell's novel "1984".

Popular Dialogues

"Annie: You can't smoke in here. Bill: Well, there's no one else in here. Annie: They're not smoking either, are they?"

"Annie: There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared... Twins."
