TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

James Earl Jones, who plays the stuttering shop clerk, actually did have a stutter like his character.

The movie marks the return of Phil Alden Robinson in directing a movie, after twelve years of absence.

The movie is a remake of the Isreali movie Mr. Baum (1997), which was directed/written by/starred Assi Dayan, the son of Israeli general and Minister of Defense Moshe Dayan.

Robin Williams guest starred in a 1994 episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street" (titled "Bop Gun") as a man whose wife, both of whom were vacationing in Baltimore, was fatally shot in front of him. One of the detectives investigating the murder was played by Melissa Leo, who plays his wife in the film.

Sharon Gill (Mila Kunis) says her parents were from Wisconsin. That is where Kunis' character Jackie Burkhardt from That 70s Show (1998) is from.

Popular Dialogues

"Henry Altmann: [narration] When Henry Altmann fell from the bridge time had slowed. And it occurred to Henry that life didn't have to be a burden, that life is short and fragile and unique. And each hour, each minute, each second could have something to offer. Something beautiful and astounding. The fact that this only occurred to him seconds before he would hit the water and die, made him very very angry."

"Henry Altmann: Anger is the only thing they left me. Anger is my refuge, it's my shield. Anger is my birthright!"
