TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Sandler means "cobbler" in Hebrew.

This is Adam Sandler's and Steve Buscemi's tenth film together, after Grown Ups 2 (2013), Hotel Transylvania (2012), Grown Ups (2010), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), Mr. Deeds (2002), Big Daddy (1999), The Wedding Singer (1998), Billy Madison (1995), and Airheads (1994). They co-starred for the eleventh time together in Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015).

When Max first looks into the mirror and sees Leon's (Method Man's) reflection, he says "oh boy", a nod to the line said by Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) on Quantum Leap (1989), a program where the main character also changes into someone else.

When Max gets home from work and opens his fridge to pick a beverage, he has two options: a beer or a Yoohoo. The Yoohoo is a nod to Adam Sandler's film Big Daddy (1999) when he explains to the kids on the playground "Ya know what's good? Yoohoo with a bit of rum."

Sandler is derived from the word "shoemaker", which is a cobbler's profession.

Popular Dialogues

"Abraham Simkin: It's a privilege to walk in another man's shoes, Max, but it's also a responsibility."

"Max Simkin: Hey, Ma, let me ask you somethin'. You ever wish you were somebody else? Sarah Simkin: No. I'm your mother. That's all I ever wanted to be. Max Simkin: But... if you could do whatever you wanted to do, what would it be? Sarah Simkin: Um... Have dinner with your father. That would be nice."
