TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Jessica Chastain underwent four months of training in Krav Maga for this movie.

The character of Dr. Vogel was loosely based on Dr. Josef Mengele, S.S. officer and physician in the Auschwitz concentration camp, who injected dyes into victims' eyes and performed other "experiments", such as the ones described in one of the scenes in this movie.

Dame Helen Mirren, in her role as Rachel, was required to speak some dialogue in Russian, and although her father was a Russian diplomat, she did not speak the language in childhood. However, the lines she speaks in this movie, perhaps fully or partially memorized phonetically, are nearly flawlessly articulated and quite credible as native Russian speech.

After watching this movie, Julia Roberts desperately wanted to work with Jessica Chastain.

This is the second movie in which Ciarán Hinds played a Mossad agent. The first being Munich (2005).

Popular Dialogues

"Young Stephan: [to Rachel] Maybe it's not always a blessing to survive."

"[last lines] Rachel Singer: My name is Rachel Singer. Please publish what you are about to read. In 1965, I was part of a mission to kidnap Dieter Vogel, The Surgeon of Birkenau, and bring him to Israel to stand trial. We have always claimed that Vogel was killed, trying to escape. But this was a lie. A lie I have lived with for thirty years. And now I understand that I must tell the truth."
