Ansel Faraj has said the films Night Tide (1961), Touch of Evil (1958), and The Seventh Victim (1943) were primary influences on him, most notably in the first two films use of Venice Beach, Ca; and in the use of witchcraft lurking within urban landscapes in Val Lewton's production.
