This episode featured a longer opening narrative that included more detail about the creature's origin and Elana's death.
This episode was edited into two parts for syndication. The narrative in the opening credits of the first part is the original detailed version featured when the episode debuted in 1977. The second episode is featuring the now familiar opening narrative.
This second feature length addition is a direct continuation of the pilot film. This wouldn't occur again during the regular show.
