TRIVIA

Trivia

During a particularly intense scene Dan Paton agreed to be choked for real on set. He was given a penny and told to drop it if he was in danger. The first few takes were fine, but on the final one he couldn't breathe and the penny dropped. The crew panicked and rushed to his aid. He'd started to black out and was unaware of what had happened. The performance looked so convincing and horrific to watch that the take ended up being the final one in the film.

The director was not allowed to shoot with a tripod in Highgate cemetery so had to improvise by balancing the camera on the sound recordist's head.

The director pretended to hide the remains of a dead spider in a box and brought it out onto set during particularly tense scenes, threatening to throw it at Eaoifa Forwards face if her performance wasn't convincing enough.

To cut down on costs, the director and his father built a camera dolly using a combination of MDF, aluminium and skateboard wheels with garden tubing for tracks.

The beach scene was shot at Man o War Bay in Lulworth and took several attempts to shoot, due to the tide position and the inconsistency of the light. When the cast and crew returned to shoot the 2nd half of the scene a landslide had taken place, eerily enough over the exact position where they needed to film.
