Saul Rubinek (Mr. Feinman) is the son of Holocaust survivors and was born in a refugee camp in Germany.

Third musical film for director François Girard after Boychoir (2014) and The Red Violin (1998). He also works on stage musicals over the world. This film also stars actor Eddie Izzard who collaborated with François Girard in Boychoir (2014).

Feeling the movie had limited commercial value, Canadian distributor Elevation Pictures didn't aggressively market the movie, resulting in the movie becoming a huge box office bomb.
