TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Not allowed to co-sign the screenplay with his name for legal reasons, Steven Soderberg used the name "Sam Lowry", the anarchist character played by Jonathan Pryce in Terry Gilliam's Brazil (1985).

This film is featured as a bonus on "King of the Hill", released by Criterion, spine #698.

The name 'Jeanette Scott', mentioned during the hospital scene, is actually the name of the film's set decorator.

Robert Redford was originally set to produce this film.

Michael reads a (fictional) self-help book called "Saying Hello to Yourself" by a "Dr Anton Kitaj" - which is the birth name of screenwriter Lem Dobbs, a frequent collaborator of Soderbergh's.

Popular Dialogues

"words on mantelpiece at Whispering Pines: A man is as big as the things that annoy him."

"Rachel: [to Michael] There's something very powerful about being absent."
