Lynda Carter (who played Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman (1975) TV series) was approached to voice the goddess Hera, but had to refuse due to scheduling conflicts.
According to Christopher Drake, an earlier cut of the film was submitted to the MPAA and received an R rating. It was later re-cut to a PG-13 rating.
Throughout the movie, Wonder Woman is referred to as such only once, towards the end, by a little kid who she taught sword fighting.
This film is loosely based on the first storyline of the second ongoing "Wonder Woman" comic book series in 1987, "Gods and Mortals" by George Pérez, Len Wein and Greg Potter.
When Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor are confronted by the first Agent of Ares in New York City, the Agent names himself as Diemos. Diemos in Greek myth is the child of the god Ares who is the villain in this movie.
"Hippolyta: Here the true nature of men is laid bare. What other depraved thoughts must you be thinking? Col. Steve Trevor: God, your daughter's got a nice rack."
"Wonder Woman: Oh, crap."
