The HS30EXR Ranks High on VFM as long as you are not an SLR enthusiast

As a layman, my requirements were simple - a camera better than the regular point and shoot ones, with a distortion free yet high zoom capability, capable of handling wide angle as well as macros, panorama option, and with a shoestring budget much lesser than SLRs - as I'm not a professional photographer in any case. The HS30EXR perfectly fitted my needs. Having many useful features, the camera is quite versatile and delivers pictures similar to an SLR, but obviously not of the same image quality. (For a camera costing around Rs 20,000/- - you wouldn't expect SLR quality in any case! Have used it for just two weeks and am thrilled with the results. Yet to practice all the options and get a hang of the finer points... though. The 30X zoom is manual, so we save on battery life - which is wasted on the motorised zooms in most point and shoot cameras. In addition to the fantastic photography options, the various movie modes in which you can record with the in built stereo mics will make your handycams or camcorders redundant! The tilting LCD screen makes it pretty easy to take pictures at tricky angles. Continuous shooting, best frame capture are some of the other features found useful. The 'Auto EXR' feature is equivalent to the 'Intelligent Auto Focus Mode' found in similar cameras of other brands. I expect this to be one of my best buys on flipkart, and certainly my best camera till date.

its worth it..

i finaly bought it.flipkart nomaly provides good price for products, but the price is bit high for this product.i got it 3.5k inr less.flipkart has to reduce price for this product or that is what i feel.great fan of flipkart. now about the camera.... cons *bit bulky. *lengs cost higher than canon and nikon *battery cost like 1800 inr *the below average tripods are not advisable. *manual mode is bit hard for people new with camera.. *it heats up a bit. but that is natural in big cameras. *high speed vedio is only possible in min res.. *above 800 iso it start getting noisy *manual focus is bit slow in auto focus pros *worth every penny spent.. *really good images in appropriate settings.. *good battery life arround 500 pic.[jpg fromat.it reduces to 100 if its raw format] *a manual focus ring which most other camera lack in its range *good fstop range.. *bright lcd display. *in super macro mode u can make ants movie.{be carefull with the lengs in this mode.} *descent build.wont slip from ur hands. *exr mode give good images in higher iso but at the cost of smaller image{8mpix} i already droped it a few times and it seems fine{not purposly}.its not water proof dont use it in rain or high humid areas like pools bathroom.after comparing with sony 200v canon 50sx panasonic fz 150.panasonic had better image QUALITY BUT COST AROUND 30 k.sony was ok almost similar to fuji.canon was realy owsem but too pricy.with that money u can buy a dslr.. non of these bridge camera provide u raw image for this price. its OWSEM

Getting this ...cant wait

The most kick ass point and shoot currently in the market . Host of features at the least price - 5 - 10 k less compared to others ( i have been researching for the past 6 months and compared sony hx200v, canon sx50hs , nikon p510 ) .earlier had zeroed in to the sony however after reading a lot of expert reviews , fuji image quality was found to be the better . so many unique features like 320 fps high speed movies ,raw modes , 1 cm close up pics , large sensor , longest battery life in its class, 11 fps mode , 30x zoom - upto 60 x intelligent zoom , 3d photography and a total of 103 shooting options .see snapsort site for detailed comparison . sony is more user friendly but fuji will it will take time to know all the controls of fuji , which will actually bring you closer to the pros. The manual zoom barrel makes you feel like a pro , I feel it is easily the best looking camera in its class. I was a bit against Fuji as it is not as known as Canon or Nikon , however after seeing worldwide videos on youtube , I came to know Fuji is indeed very highly held amongst pros as far as entry level cameras are concerned and they have been doing this for a very long time . Cant wait to get this and discovering it . Happy clicking

Very under rated camera which is best for indoors and outdoors zooming.

This Fujifilm HS30 is very under rated camera. Many reviewers are complaining about high iso image noise but there is EXR mode that they forgot to use.Using EXR mode in 8mp mode, the camera gives sharp and clear images than other competitors. I have many digital cameras and DSLR. I wanted a zoom camera with good image quality, so I purchase Canon SX50 which is considered best for zoom quality. Although its image quality at longer zoom was very good, its indoor image quality was poor because of small aperture. So i sold it and purchased Fujifilm HS30.When I handles HS30, I felt canon and nikon superzoom cameras as toys! This HS30 is better built like dslr body.Even some dslr dont look as good as HS30.Its that better, really. Pros. of Fuji HS30 1) Very good image quality indoors. 2) Good image quality at long zoom.Very sharp and clear images if handled steady. Canon sx50 will also give slightly good image quality because of longer zoom and less noise. But both are good. 3)Built quality just excellent! other cameras looks as toys against HS30. 4)Lots of features to experiment.Auto Panorama stitches multiple images inside camera. 5)View finder best in class.Very clear and sharp. 6)Manual zoom is fast, fun to use and uses no battery power. 7)Can attach external flash if required. 8)Slow motion movie is very fun to use.Full zoom in videos is also great. 9)battery life is really great. I took 750 pics without flash in single recharge.Excellent! 10)EXR sensor and EXR modes need some homework and trials. Once you understand their use, this is the best camera to use indoors and outdoors. 11)Shooting modes are unbeatable! All modes are really working and not found in canon, nikon cameras. 12)EXR auto mode works very well and macro of 1cm is very much usefull and appreciated. This HS30 has short focusing distance which helps is shooting photos with full zoom. Cons: 1) Learning of EXR modes is required to give optimum image quality. 2) HD video is average quality. 3) Sometimes camera overexposes images in EXR mode Summary: Buy this camera with confidence and you will like this camera in your hand.
