Rockstar Games has announced another look at Grand Theft Auto VI, but this time the studio is taking a slightly different route. The “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” will premiere on Netflix on August 27, giving subscribers an early look at the game before Rockstar releases it on YouTube and the official GTA 6 website later the same day.
Rockstar has not shared much about what the extended look will include. It could show more of the game’s world, story, characters, or gameplay, but the studio has not confirmed the exact details or length of the presentation yet. The game itself is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The extended look will first appear on Netflix on August 27 at 3pm ET. It will then be available on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website at 9pm ET, six hours after the Netflix premiere.
For viewers in India, the Netflix premiere will take place at 12:30am on August 28. The public release on YouTube and the official website will follow at 6:30am the same day.
This means Netflix subscribers will get an early look, but the footage will not remain exclusive to the platform. Anyone who does not have a Netflix subscription can watch it for free a few hours later.
Rockstar has not explained why it chose Netflix for the first showing. However, the deal gives the extended look a little more attention than a regular YouTube upload. Netflix has also created a dedicated page for the presentation, although the page does not appear to be accessible to users in India at the moment.
It is an unusual move for a game trailer, especially one from Rockstar. The studio could have uploaded the video directly to YouTube, where GTA 6 already has a huge audience. Instead, it is treating this new footage as a separate event and giving Netflix users a short window to watch it first.
Rockstar seems to be making the most of the long wait for GTA 6. The game is still several months away, but the studio has already built each trailer and announcement into a major event. Now, it is adding an extended look on Netflix to that list.
