Best Product From HP...

I bought this laptop from a local laptop store at a cheaper price also I prefer to have a look at it first before buying.I was worried at first about buying HP due to heating problems that I had from my previous laptop(HP 630).There are no heating problems at all (till now) it doest heat even slightly when running photoshop or matlab(noiseless). Just heats a little when playing high graphic games but hat is acceptable). But then I went forward with this laptop bcoz of the 4th gen i5 and 2gb NVIDIA Graphics CARD....n1.)Processor : I was first worried about the 1.8 Ghz clock speed which is less compared to other processors. But believe me this processor is awesome it generates negligible heat(speciality of 4th gen)...Also it has Turbo boost of 2.6 so no need to worry about it...nn2.)Storage and Drive : Well not much to say here 1 TB is more than enough and DVD Drive is there. There is just one complaint that of 1 TB only 940 GB is allowable to use.(I am talking about total space not free available space).nn3.)Display and OS: Cant say much about OS.I personally prefer Windows 7 and am getting used to Windows 8.Display is pretty good. Maximum brightness is high enough and the display quality cannot be said to be great but good enough..(cmon its only 1366x768)nn4.Graphics Card : Graphic card is awesome its better than most of the laptops at this range can offer.Lenovo Z500 (4 gb ram one) comes at around this price and offers just 1 GB Nvidia 740m.(this is 2GB). Most people say that 1 GB is more than enough but my 950 mb graphic memory was used in playing GTA IV itself. Also NVIDIA 740m is a 2nd class graphic card other laptops offer a third class graphic card.(You can see the rankings and fps of games on www[dot]notebookcheck[dot]net).nI will mention all the games that I have played till now.nGTA IV : Smooth on very high settings.nFIFA 14 and 13 PES 14 and 13 : Smooth on highest setting with anti-aliasing 4x.nAssasins Creed Brotherhood and Revelations : Smooth on Highest settings both.nNFS Most wanted 2012: Same smooth on highest settings with shadow effect and everything on.nn5.Webcam and Keyboard: The webcam quality was not good.(OK) but it doesnt matter me as I hardly use skype or anything.Keyboard is awesome very smooth to use and n make noise just the spacebar makes a little noise.nn6.Sound : Well I was personally very impressed with the sound quality.I was not expecting much in this department but HP surprised me.As HP offers Beats Speakers in its high end laptops so was not expecting much in this laptop. But the sound in this laptop is very clear and sharp and the maximum volume is also high.(much better than my friends DELL)nn7.Battery Life : It is nice.It gives 5-6 hours battery life when I dont run high demand applications just do net and surfing.nn8.Looks : This is where HP has nailed it. The looks of this laptop are awesome. It is just 22.6 mm thin ( I think thinnest as compared to all other notebooks in this range and configurations.). Also I would recommend anyone to buy black colour. I have seen both the laptops but black is much better than white. It has line brushing which gives it a metallic look where white has dot printing which gives it plastic kind of feel. Also black is easy to maintain.nAlso I bought it during the diwali offer period so got the 2 year extended warranty (from HP)( I just hope that I don't need it :D). Also Hp is giving 1 year Norton antivirus Subscription.(I am not a fan of Norton but anyways its for FREE!).nJust remeber you will have to activate the 2years warranty if you are buying during that period.Just follow the procedure at http://www[dot]hp[dot]com/in/diwaliutsav.n(I think HP should have just activated it from beggining the procedure is quite troublesome.)nSo anyone to buy a laptop in 40000-50000 range just go with this laptop you wont regret it.Hope my review helps.

Excellent Value for Money! Actually supports up to 12 GB RAM

I purchased this very model last month from a local retailer for around 50k. From the specifications to the build, to the real-world performance. Here's a quick run through: Processor: Intel i5 4200U (Haswell), well for most people the base clock speed doesn't look pretty at 1.6 Ghz. Its a ULV processor designed on the Haswell (4th Gen) architecture to consume very low power, with in turn reduces battery consumption and TDP (Heat). Now the amazing part is, thanks to the Turbo Boost technology, the processing power is exactly that of a 2.6-2.8 GHz i5 3rd Gen. So flexible clock speed is a great advantage when your PC is under light-medium usage, saves power. Graphics: Intel HD 4400 - The real advantage of the 4th generation processors, this on board GPU from Intel has 1.75 GB of memory which can handle day to day graphical tasks without switching to the discreet GPU. Excellent power efficiency too. Nvidia GT 740M 2 GB - A hugely popular, highly capable GPU which can run most of today's games and 2-3 years more to come at high settings. Even ultra for some. It is the real USP of the product as other laptops in the range of +/- 5k are offering a far inferior Radeon 8670M. Nvidia's driver support and CUDA acceleration for some applications are brilliant. Display - A 1366x768 resolution is good enough with great contrast ratios and good color reproduction. 1080p videos look better than 720p, because down-scaling is obviously a better option. RAM - 4 GB memory is relatively less, considering most laptops pack in a 8 GB at this range. But this packs a 4 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz which is top-of-the line both in terms of clock speed and power efficiency. [READ] Now here's where HP made a very weird marketing mistake, the maximum RAM capability on the spec sheet is given as 8 GB, whereas the manual says the motherboard is capable of 12 GB RAM. In fact HP launched a updated model HP Pavilion 15-n208TX to correct this error but with 8.1 on board. I contacted the HP support and they admitted the error and said that they had a BIOS update out too to change the maximum memory rating. You can confirm this yourself from the support too. Build: Boy! here's where HP has outdone themselves this year, a departure from the fat plastic bodies, this baby has a light, impressively thin body with a black-grey metallic finish. It puts the equivalent Dell 3357s to shame. It is tad longer than most notebooks too. Trackpad is dotted to give sufficient friction. Webcam/Speakers/Keyboard - Webcam is about average, have seen better at the price. Speakers are another great surprise in terms of the clarity/loudness. Much above anything you'd expect from anything less than 60k. Would have loved a back lit keyboard but yeah they've reserved it for the Envy series I guess. Battery Life/Heat - 3-4 hours on 100% brightness is what I experienced which is fair enough, they've kept themselves down to a 4-Cell Battery to reduce the size and weight. This compromise is taken care of by the power efficient CPU, GPU and RAM. This notebook runs very cool thanks to all the measures against TDP. 60-62 degrees is what RealTemp measured after couple of hours of BF3. OS/SW/Support/Offers - HP Support is the second best in India IMO, after DELL. Online support and the website navigation is good so far. Came with Windows 8 on-board, upgraded it to 8.1. For people like me who are not big fans of metro, things are actually looking up with the 8.1 Update 1 which will make it more mouse friendly. It also came in with pre-installed Cyberlink Suite which is a great media suite btw. I consider myself very lucky, as I bought it during HP's new year offer, in a window where two offers were live: 1 Year Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) for Free and 2 Years Extended Warranty @ Rs 1499. I have availed both. The entire package cost me about 50k :) Summing up, PROs - Good, flexible CPU. Powerful Discreet GPU, Cool and Power Efficient, Excellent Build Quality for Price, Good Speakers, Decent battery life. CONs - No Backlit Keyboard, Average Webcam, 4 cell battery, Low RAM on board for price. Overall, the price is killer for the list of PROs up there. This one gets a 5/5.

Think twice before choosing this one

Hello guys,nnFlipkart(WS_RETAIL) is always excellent at delivering the product right on time. No doubt about that.nnHowever, it is HP that makes me disappointed. Now I think why did I go for this one.nnHere are the couple of points why I don't like this product.n- High disk usage on windows 8 platform every now and then. (Common win 8 problem with low read/write rate HDDs). Laptop hangs for about couple of minutes and you cannot do anything. Touchpad becomes completely unresponsive. Installing SSD seems to be the only option at this point.nn- When you play high graphic games laptop heats up pretty fast and you wouldn't feel comfortable if you don't have a good cooling pad. Long time gaming not recommended on this one. I tried NFS rivals, Sniper ghost warrior 2, COD Black ops 2. All on Medium/High settings. I wonder how nobody has mentioned this in review. nnAll in all a good laptop for everyday use but not for gaming. 1.6Ghz Ci5 is not a cool match with the beast NVIDEA GT740M.nnThink twice before choosing this one.

Switched from Dell to HP and Happy !!!

Switching from Dell to HP was not easy, initially. I had Dell XPS L502X, and that was a great machine and had good after sales from Dell.nnFirst of all, I was searching for a powerful yet slim laptop with better support. HP N013tx took my attension when I first saw it on Flipkart. I went to HP store to have a look at it.nThe two systems :nWhite version - N013txnBlack version - N012txnhad the same configuration but the design pattern on palm rest and cover were different in texture.nnI took the white version from Jumbo store and got insurance of an extra year by NATIONAL INSURANCE. This machine cost me 46k. The deal was good for me as it was lowest at that time (except snapdeal).nnAlso, HP new offer is for some days so you can get extension of warranty at a price of 1499. On payment of extra 999 by check or DD you are eligible to get a headphone and mouse of HP alongwith Norton antivirus/inernet security.nnPERFORMANCE:nnBattery is awesome ... look wise and performance wise.nScreen quality is comparable to that of Sony of same resolutionnKeys are good but sometime they feel weak (I guess I was comparing it with my XPS)nSound is OK ... It has acceptable intensity and clarity. (you can't enjoy songs to fullest)nWeight is very less compared to the amount and quality of graphics card it has.( battery played that role of balancing the weight)nwindows 8 should be upgraded to windows 8.1 as windows 8 has some defects.nwindows 8.1 is running smooth and lucid.nIntel 4th generation seems to work better in performance and power consumption.nHP coolsense works well while using graphics performance.nnNegatives:nI fear the white may get dirty (but white is sexy)nThe touchpad could have been better (no performance issues yet)nThe speakers need quality rather than tags like DTS or sound+nThe beezel of the screen could have been narrownBacklit keyboard should have been provided (or there should have been some provision for the same like in XPS)
