I have been using this laptop for about an year now.Wont go into much technical details. Overview:- 1)Battery backup:easily 4 to 4.5hrs on moderate usage 2)Excellent safety features 3)No graphics card still intel graphics processor does just fine(never had any graphics issue) 4)Keyboard:resists spill,excellent typing experience 5)Display:glare proof comfortable in long usage.Never reflects 6)Awesome sound with speaker on top and earphone slot at front.(use latest sound driver) Overall good machine,comfortable weight,smooth working,mouse pad is on smaller side for multi-gesture support
Using it for last 2 months, working perfectly fine in windows 8. Haven't tried in others although. Had little fear regarding heating problem of HP laptops, but this is really a cool one.
ITS AN EXCELLENT MACHINE,,,,THESE WORDS ARE AFTER USING IT CONTINUPUSLY FOR ONE YEAR ......IF IT DO HAVE 4TH GEN I5 OR I7 WITH A DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARD IT REACHES THAT 1% AS I SAID IN BEGINNING..................
Hats off to Flipkart's timely delivery again. Ordered this product and received it within 3 days instead of 7 days that was estimated. Packaging was ok from the seller, but I would say WS packages things a lot better. Packaging lacked the care of an expensive and valuable purchase. The external seller plastic above the HP carton was torn a bit, but the product and the original HP packaging was undamaged overall. They should have packed the HP packaging box inside another box from the seller. Coming to the product now, I was looking to replace my old Lenovo G580 as the processor lacked H/W accelerated virtualization instructions. Wanted to choose in between Toshiba Satellite C50-A X0011 and Fujitsu Lifebook A544 both of which were reviewed to have bad build material (cheap plastic) when this caught my eye being a business laptop in this price (I always wanted a thinkpad). My use case is heavy compilations with gcc, virtualization and GNU+Linux development. Please be advised that I am not a Windows user, so don't expect driver issue and other related aspects from my review. This review is strictly for GNU+Linux users. To those who are yet to install an operating system and care about your software freedom you can choose any 100% Free (As in freedom) GNU+Linux based operating system. Trisquel will be my personal recommendation for new users. Pros : 1) Robust build material and elegantly designed. 2) 3rd Gen Ci5 processor that supports VT-x for H/W accelerated Virtualization and AES-NI for H/W accelerated encryption and decryption using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). 3) Wireless Chip is Atheros 9485/AR9004 (might vary), uses the ath9k driver which uses a free software license. So GNU+Linux users won't require any proprietary binary-only firmware blob to be loaded from userspace. 4) Comfortable Chiclet Keyboard. 5) Anti Glare Display. Cons : 1) Won't boot from GPT schemes in legacy-bios mode unlike few other laptops. Using UEFI becomes mandatory with GPT or switching to MBR partition with an "Active" boot partition. 2) Ships without a Carry Bag/ Backpack. Seriously HP, how much do they cost for a reputed equipment seller?
