I got this laptop a month ago, and i cant say im thoroughly enjoying it.First off,the build quality leaves much to be desired,i was previously using a HP Dv5 which still feels solid,even more so after ive had a run at this.Secondly, the keyboard layout is a little odd with really small navigation buttons,which does not come in handy while playing games.Aah games,this laptop is capable,it'll pay games for the last 2 years with average frame rates but the newer games will lag,ive so far tested plying,Fifa 12,Burnout Ultimate etc and they seem to work fine after switching the graphics.Now for the good bits,the battery is awesome,i get upto 4hrs from a full charge with the screen brightness at almost 85% (at this moment it says 2hrs28m remaining at 65% battery level.The screen is good but it gets a little washed away at times and the refresh rate isint great. All in all a decent laptop,but still leaves a few thing to be desired,namely build quality.If ure planning on lugging this around,look elsewhere.
I bought this laptop about 15 days ago, and just about every feature of this notebook is fantastic. The sound is great, has Dolby digital sound. The graphics card is really good too, you can play most mid level games on high setting and about every high end game on low-medium settings quite easily. Battery backup is also higher than 3hours even though that is the mentioned battery back up. The only con is that it should have had a better camera than what it has. But at this price, for this kind of quality, it still suffices.
I bought my laptop g6-2006tx from HP reseller. Main problem with this laptop is with hardware. Hinges that join screen and keyboard is too delicate. I replaced it with new one and it costs around Rs.4000 for replacement. But again it got broken. My suggestion is what ever may be the laptop you bought, go for warranty extension for at least 3 years. It really helps a lot later. (from personal experience and have seen experiences of my friends and suggesting this)
I am using this laptop for 2 years. It has heating problem. i tried ubantu but it does not support AMD graphic card. Now battery back up is 20-25 min only. Sound quality not much as aspected. Buy NVIDEA graphic card laptop if available. Processor is good. Overall good laptop at price.
I bought this laptop on 28th june from HP world. Games have been running on high and ultra(few games) till now. Max Payne 3 runs on Very High settings. Though permanently discontinued on flipkart, you can still find it in HP world, and will get upgrade to Win 8 Pro for 699 as I am going to get.
