The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel Buds 2a are now available for purchase in India through online and offline channels, including the Google Store. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold launched alongside the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL in August, while the Buds 2a mark Google’s latest affordable TWS offering.
Priced at Rs 1,72,999 for the 16GB + 256GB model, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold costs the same as its predecessor. It comes in a Moonstone colour finish and uses aerospace-grade aluminium for the frame. The design remains largely similar, but the foldable is slightly thicker at 10.9mm when folded. Notably, it’s the first foldable phone with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a significant improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 7‘s IP48 rating. The new gearless hinge is also claimed to last over 10 years, improving long-term durability.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold features an 8-inch inner display and a 6.4-inch cover screen, both with slimmer bezels and 3,000 nits peak brightness, improving outdoor visibility. It packs a 5,015mAh battery, the largest on a Pixel Fold yet, with fast charging up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. In comparison, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a 4,650mAh battery, which lasted for an entire day with the highest settings enabled.
Powering it is the new Tensor G5 chipset built by TSMC, offering 34 percent faster CPU and 60 percent faster TPU performance. The chip offers improved thermal control and AI efficiency, although it still lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite and Apple A18 in benchmarks, as seen in our review of the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
The foldable retains a 48MP primary sensor, a 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens, a 10.5MP ultra-wide lens, and dual 10MP selfie cameras. Features such as Macro Focus, Super Resolution Zoom (20x), and a new Instant View mode, which previews shots on the inner display, are included. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold produced vibrant images with social-media-ready contrast and minimal noise in portraits. We expect similar outcomes here, with possible improvements in dynamic range and colour balance through software tuning.
The large inner screen on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold supports adaptive Split Screen and Drag and Drop, enabling more effortless multitasking across apps, a welcome feature for productivity-focused users.
For existing Pixel 9 Pro Fold users, the upgrade isn’t essential unless water resistance or hinge durability are priorities. For first-time foldable buyers, though, the combination of Google’s clean UI, reliable cameras, and robust build is reason to consider it. That said, the Samsung Galaxy Fold7, priced similarly to the Pixel Fold, is a solid alternative, as Samsung has pioneered the foldable design; however, its durability isn’t as good as the latter’s. The Vivo X Fold5 is another excellent alternative, offering more affordability if you’re looking for a productivity-focused foldable that delivers terrific photos.
Coming to the Google Pixel Buds 2a, the TWS earbuds are now available in India for Rs 12,999 in Iris and Hazel colour options. These are Google’s budget-friendly TWS, and the second model to launch after the Pixel Buds A-series, which debuted in 2021. The new earbuds feature Active Noise Cancellation for the first time in the A-series, powered by the Tensor A1 chip and designed for a comfortable, secure fit with four eartip sizes. The lightweight, compact design boasts IP54 sweat and water resistance, ideal for workouts or rainy days.
Each earbud uses an 11mm speaker driver with a wind-blocking mesh to deliver clear calls and rich music. Battery life reaches up to 7 hours of listening with ANC and a total of 20 hours including the charging case. The case introduces a replaceable battery to help extend long-term use. Users also get hands-free Gemini support, touch controls, and seamless device switching for added convenience.
With Gemini voice support, touch controls, and multi-device switching, the Buds 2a fit neatly into Google’s ecosystem. However, rivals like Nothing Ear and OnePlus Buds 3 Pro offer longer battery life, making Google’s pair best suited for Pixel users prioritising AI features and seamless integration.
