Google Pixel 10a launching in India next week: price, specifications, features and everything we know so far

Google is expected to announce the Pixel 10a on February 18th, with pre-orders opening the same day and sales likely starting in early March. The A-series has always been Google’s way of offering the core Pixel experience at a lower price — strong cameras, clean Android, and years of updates — without flagship hardware. From what has surfaced so far, the Pixel 10a looks set to continue that approach.

Not much new with the design

The Pixel 10a is expected to look very similar to the Pixel 9a. Renders, teaser footage, and retailer listings all point to the same flat frame, horizontal camera bar that sits flush at the back, and compact form factor that have defined recent Pixel A-series phones.

There are minor visual tweaks. The bezels appear slightly thinner, and the camera bar looks a little taller while still sitting flush with the back. Previous leaks suggest the Pixel 10a will be available in Berry, Lavender, Fog, and Obsidian. The Berry finish appears noticeably vibrant, while Lavender offers a softer option for those who liked the Pixel 8a’s Bay shade. As with earlier Pixel models, the colour treatment is expected to extend to the frame, giving the device a more cohesive look. The display is expected to remain in the 6.2 to 6.3-inch range with a 120Hz OLED panel and HDR support. That keeps it in line with most midrange phones in 2026, where high refresh rate screens are no longer a differentiator but a baseline expectation.

Price: keep your fingers crossed

Price will decide how the Pixel 10a is received. The Pixel 9a launched in India at Rs 49,999, and early European leaks suggest Google may try to hold a similar line, with figures around EUR 549 for the base model. Some retailer listings show higher numbers — up to EUR 626 for 128GB — but those may include taxes.

In India, the Pixel 10a is expected to be sold via Flipkart and the Google Store. If Google sticks close to the previous launch price, the phone will remain in the Rs 40,000 – Rs 55,000 segment. Any significant increase could make it harder to justify against rivals offering newer processors or faster charging. Memory component costs have been volatile, so pricing decisions may reflect broader supply pressures.

Similar specifications expected

Most leaks suggest the Pixel 10a will use Google’s Tensor G4 chip — the same processor found in the Pixel 9a. That means performance gains are likely to be modest. The G4 is still capable for daily tasks, photography, and AI features, but it doesn’t represent a generational leap. The phone is expected to ship with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. While adequate, UFS 3.1 is slower than the UFS 4.0 storage used in higher-end devices, including Google’s own Pixel 10 Pro.

Camera hardware also appears unchanged: a 48MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 13MP front camera. Unlike the Pixel 10 models, the 10a is not expected to include a telephoto camera. One may argue that it’s a stripped down version but Android OEMs have upped their mid-range game with competitors from Realme (number series) and OPPO (Reno series) giving telephoto lenses in sub-flagships.

Battery capacity is tipped to remain at 5,100mAh, with wireless charging and USB-C support. This could be bit of a bummer in today’s era of 7,000mAh batteries, but the traditionalists are being less experimental. Listings also mention the Titan M2 security chip, 5G connectivity, dual SIM support, face unlock, and optical image stabilisation.

The Pixel 10a will likely ship with Android 16 and Google’s core AI features. However, some newer on-device tools expected on flagship Pixels, such as proactive contextual assistance features, may not be included. Even so, the Pixel experience remains defined by software. Features like Call Screen, live transcription, spam filtering, and Google’s image processing continue to be major reasons people choose Pixel phones over similarly priced alternatives.

Pixel 10a vs Pixel 9a vs the competition

The Pixel 9a launched in India at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. Today, it sells for around Rs 39,999, with bank offers bringing the effective price down to roughly Rs 36,999. The 9a already delivers a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display, Tensor G4 chip, 48MP dual cameras, and a 5,100mAh battery. It also carries an IP68 rating, which is still uncommon at this price.

If the Pixel 10a arrives with largely the same hardware, the differences may come down to software refinements and pricing rather than performance gains. For many buyers, the discounted Pixel 9a may remain the better value unless the new model introduces more improvements. For Pixel 9a users, the 10a may not be a necessary upgrade.

Competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S FE lineup, OnePlus’ R-series, and iQOO sub-flagship models offer faster charging, larger batteries, or newer processors in the same price range. Google’s advantage remains its camera processing and long software support.
