Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 5 has appeared in official-looking renders weeks before its expected debut, giving the clearest look yet at the smartwatch’s design and colour options. While the Pixel 11 series has dominated recent leaks, the latest images suggest Google is taking a more iterative approach with its next smartwatch, retaining the familiar circular design while introducing new finishes and modest hardware upgrades.
Shared by tipster OnLeaks in collaboration with The Tide Chart, the renders show the Pixel Watch 5 in four case colours and two size options. The smartwatch is expected to launch alongside the Pixel 11 series at Google’s Made by Google event on August 12th.
Fresh colourways and aesthetics
The leaked renders indicate that the Pixel Watch 5 will look almost identical to the Pixel Watch 4. It retains the domed glass display, side-mounted charging contacts and Google’s proprietary band attachment mechanism.
Google is expected to offer four case finishes: Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite and Warm Gold, which have been leaked earlier but not in renders. However, the Warm Gold option is reportedly exclusive to the 41 mm model, while the larger 45 mm version will be available in the remaining three colours.
The renders also showcase a new watch face featuring an analogue clock, refreshed backgrounds and a dedicated Gemini shortcut, hinting at deeper AI integration across Google’s wearable ecosystem.
Specifications and rumoured upgrades
Based on recent leaks, the Pixel Watch 5 will be offered in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, with both Wi-Fi and LTE variants. The smartwatch is expected to ship with Wear OS 7, slightly larger batteries and Qualcomm’s rumoured Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, although Google has yet to confirm the processor.
Certification listings also point to support for LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and ultra-wideband (UWB) connectivity. UWB could enable more accurate device tracking and tighter integration with compatible Pixel devices, while the new chipset is expected to improve performance, AI features and battery efficiency.
Interestingly, a recent prototype reportedly recovered from the ocean bed (seriously) in the Caribbean showed a design nearly identical to previous Pixel Watch models, reinforcing rumours that Google is focusing more on internal refinements than a visual overhaul this year.
Pricing and expected availability
According to recent reports, the 41 mm Wi-Fi variant could start at EUR 419 (around Rs 45,600), while the LTE version may cost EUR 519 (around Rs 56,500). The larger 45 mm model is tipped to start at EUR 449 (around Rs 48,900) for Wi-Fi and EUR 549 (around Rs 57,600) for LTE. If true, the lineup would see a EUR 20 price increase over the Pixel Watch 4 in Europe. Google has not yet confirmed pricing or whether the Pixel Watch 5 will launch in India, but we’re likely to see it considering past models have been sold in the country.
For Pixel users, the Watch 5 could be a worthwhile upgrade if the rumoured chipset and battery improvements deliver day-to-day gains. However, buyers looking for a new design or major health sensor upgrades may want to wait until Google reveals the full hardware details next month.
