Update (August 2025): Huawei launched the P40 series in March 2020, and the official models closely matched our earlier leaked renders. The P40 Pro arrived with a curved display, Leica-powered quad rear cameras, and the same five colour options we reported, while the P40 featured a flat display with triple rear cameras. Yesterday, we brought you an exclusive render of the Huawei P40 smartphone, which followed the CAD-based renders we published last month. Now, 91mobiles has received new images of both the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro from a reliable industry source; these renders show the full design as well as the colour options the two phones will be launched in. The two flagship smartphones from Huawei are expected to debut with oblong punch-holes in the display and rectangular camera modules at the back. However, as seen from the images, the Huawei P40 Pro features a curved display and Leica-powered quad rear cameras, whereas the standard Huawei P40 smartphone has a flat display and Leica’s triple rear cameras. As for the colour options, we can exclusively report that both Huawei P40-series offerings will come in five hues, namely Black, Blush Gold, Silver Frost, Deep Sea Blue, and Ice White with a gradient finish.

Huawei P40 series launch, specifications
Huawei is slated to launch both Huawei P40 and P40 Pro sometime in March in Paris. Rumours are rife that the handset will rock the in-house Kirin 990 SoC with 5G modem at its core, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage onboard. The handsets will most likely sport an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Software-wise, the Huawei P40 series may come pre-loaded with open-source (AOSP) Android 10-based EMUI 10 out of the box.
While the Huawei P40 display is expected to measure 6.1/6.2 inches, the P40 Pro screen could be anywhere between 6.5 inches and 6.7 inches. For photography, the P40’s triple rear cameras are likely to ship with ultra-wide and ToF lenses. The Pro model, on the other hand, will reportedly sport a high-resolution main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 3D ToF sensor, and a 10x optical zoom periscope lens in the quad-camera setup at the back. As for the selfies, the handsets may house a standard front-facing sensor, aided by an ultra-wide sensor for group photos.
