Infinix could be preparing to bring another Hot series smartphone to India. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G is tipped to launch in the country in the first week of September, following its debut in select global markets in July. A new leak has also revealed the phone’s likely India colour options and hands-on images, including a closer look at its distinctive Active Matrix Cube display.
According to tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G will be available in India in Dive Blue, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple and Thermo Orange. These are also among the colour options offered in global markets. The hands-on images show a vertically arranged triple-camera-style layout, although the third section houses Infinix’s Active Matrix Cube rather than a conventional camera. The small customisable display can show notifications, status alerts and animations. The Thermo Orange and other finishes also use different visual effects, including colour-changing and light-reactive textures depending on the variant.
The global model features a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display and is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. It comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the battery capacity varies between 5,600mAh and 6,000mAh depending on the market. Other specifications include 45W charging, a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP selfie camera and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. If the India variant gets the same battery, buyers could be underwhelmed as phones in the segment offer an average 7,000mAh battery, with some even going up tp 10,000mAh.
The Dimensity 7100 is also used in the Infinix Note Edge. The latter offers a sharper 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a larger 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, 13MP selfie camera and 7.2mm slim profile. It also runs Android 16-based XOS 16 and has dual JBL-tuned speakers, although its IP65 rating is lower than the Hot 70 Pro’s. That puts the Hot 70 Pro in an interesting position if it launches close to the Note Edge’s current price. The Note Edge launched in India at Rs 21,999 in February but is now available for Rs 28,999.
Infinix has not confirmed the Hot 70 Pro’s India launch or pricing yet. For context, the Infinix Hot 60 5G+, the latest Hot series model officially launched in India, starts at Rs 17,999 and features a 120Hz display, Dimensity 7020 chipset, 50MP camera and 5,200mAh battery with 18W charging.
The Hot 70 Pro should offer a more capable package, but buyers may want to wait for its India price before choosing between it and the Note Edge. If priced aggressively, the Active Matrix Cube and IP68 protection could help the Hot 70 Pro stand out in the crowded sub-Rs 25,000 segment.
