iQOO 15 to offer five Android upgrades and seven years of security updates
The iQOO 15 is among the first wave of Android flagships launching in India this month. It’s confirmed to debut in India on November 26th. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the iQOO 15 is poised to be a performance-focused smartphone, keeping the brand’s legacy of focusing on powerful hardware. This time, iQOO seems to be taking things seriously on the software side by possibly extending the number of updates its latest flagship phone will get. The iQOO 15 is already slated to offer a refreshed software experience with OriginOS 6. Now, that could be coupled with longer software, too.
According to a report by Smartprix, the iQOO 15 will get five major OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. The report adds that this decision was made based on user feedback and iQOO’s growing focus on long-term software support. With the new change, iQOO adds another year of Android updates and two more years of security patches from last year’s iQOO 13. This move will undoubtedly please buyers, especially those who plan to use the iQOO 15 for a long time.

OriginOS 6 is also expected to bring a refreshed software experience for users. It brings a new UI, smoother animations, updated features, and performance improvements. Like most Android custom UIs this time, OriginOS 6 also has visible traces of iOS 26. It adds what iQOO calls Dynamic Glow, delivering a more fluid visual experience across the home screen, lock screen, and system apps. The smartphone also features a large 8000mm single-layer VC cooling system for your long gaming sessions. The iQOO 15 is also claimed to deliver 2K + 144 FPS gaming support with its in-house Q3 gaming chip. With this setup, the iQOO 15 would be a top contender for power users and gamers.
In terms of optics, you’ll get a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, up to 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. The upgrade here is a periscope lens with 3x optical zoom for distant shots.
The smartphone also gets a massive 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. which is an upgrade over the iQOO 13’s 6,000mAh battery. Charging, however, has been reduced from 120W to 100W, but it’s still one of the fastest available.
Now, only the iQOO 15’s price remains to be seen. If it continues in the same trend as the iQOO 13, which launched at a starting price of Rs 54,999 in India, then it would definitely have an edge over rival Android flagships. This way, the iQOO 15 would be a good buy for power and regular users alike.
