Lava Virat V1, Virat V1 5G launched in India with bloatware free software: price, specifications, sale date
As teased earlier, Lava has debuted the Virat V1 series today in India, comprising the Virat V1 and Virat V1 5G. Aimed at the budget segment, the lineup promises a clean software experience and robust designs, while instilling the company’s much-highlighted free home service so customers can get their phone repaired in the comfort of their homes.

The Lava Virat V1 gets two colour options, Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver, while the Lava Virat V1 5G comes in two colourways, Arya Blue and Sonar Gold. Both smartphones will be available exclusively on Flipkart and are set to go on sale starting July 31st at noon.
As part of the day one sale offer, the Lava Virat V1 can be bought for Rs 8,999, while the Virat V1 5G will retail for Rs 11,999.

This is a 4G-only offering, hence it’s priced a tier below the Virat V1 5G. As for the specifications, it sports a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with 90Hz refresh rates for smooth interactivity with the software. The IP64-rated build houses a 5,000mAh battery and 10W charging.
For optics, the Virat V1 houses a 13MP AI dual rear camera, while up front, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter. Given the hardware, one can expect just modest camera results. The software is powered by Android 15 Go, which honestly leaves a bitter taste considering Android 17 is already out on multiple smartphones, even in the high-end segment.
Thankfully, Lava claims the software doesn’t carry bloatware and ads, which has been a common instance on budget-oriented smartphones as a cost-cutting measure. For Rs 9,999, if you don’t prioritise 5G, the Virat V1 stands as a great alternative to the Infinix Smart 20 (review), which is also a 4G phone but retails at a higher price of Rs 12,499. Though the Smart 20 may offer a tad better performance and UI experience, the Lava Virat V1, being Rs 2,500 more affordable, should justify its worth.

The Virst V1 5G is the more capable smartphone of the two. It gets 5G connectivity, along with much superior processing power in the form of the Unisoc T8200 chipset. Having experienced the processor on the Lava Shark 2 5G (review), it scores close to 5,00,000 on the AnTuTu benchmark and delivers enough power for moderate use cases.
The front flaunts a 6.75-inch HD+ panel with LCD technology and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate should ensure smooth scrolling throughout multiple tasks.
