Moto G Max launching in India on August 14th with 7,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4
Shortly after reports surfaced Motorola was launching a new budget phone in India around the Independence Day sales, the company has confirmed the device. Motorola is bringing another battery-focsed smartphone to India, with the Moto G Max set to launch on August 14th. The new phone shares several specifications with the Moto G57 Power, which launched in India last year, including the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, a 6.72-inch display and a 7,000mAh battery.

The company has confirmed the Moto G Max’s availability, saying it will be sold through Motorola’s website, Flipkart and offline stores following its August 14th launch. As is the case with all Motorola phones, it will come in three Pantone-curated finishes: Pantone Stargazer, Pantone Malaga and Pantone Alaskan Blue, with a Luxury Satin Finish.

Motorola has also confirmed the specifications of the device. The phone gets a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is used for protection. Motorola is also highlighting durability, with the phone carrying MIL-STD-810H certification and high-level dust and water resistance.
The Moto G Max is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, paired with 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The same chipset was used in the Moto G57 Power, although that phone’s Indian version came with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. At the back is a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary camera, with Motorola focusing on improved daylight and low-light photography through sensor and software tuning.
The biggest highlight remains the 7,000mAh battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge under standard usage conditions. The phone also gets stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Motorola’s Smart Connect feature and Android 16. Motorola has promised two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
The specifications suggest that the Moto G Max is sort of an evolution of the G57 Power. The latter launched in India at Rs 14,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant in November 2025, although its current listed price is Rs 21,999 after hikes. The G57 Power also offers a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera, 7,000mAh battery, 120Hz FHD+ display and MIL-STD-810H durability. It additionally has an 8MP ultrawide camera and 30W charging. A Moto G Max launched in Brazil in June 2026 but that was a bit up the ladder compared to this one as it came with a triple-camera setup including a 200MP primary camera.
A previous leak suggested the phone could start at around Rs 30,000 in India. Buyers looking for maximum battery life may find the new phone compelling if Motorola prices it competitively against other 7,000mAh phones, but the G57 Power could remain the better choice if it receives aggressive discounts or offers a stronger camera setup for similar money. The overlap makes the Moto G Max an interesting addition to Motorola’s mid-range lineup, although its pricing will ultimately determine how much sense it makes alongside the G57 Power and other phones in the segment.
