Even though the successor of the OG Motorola Signature, the Motorola Signature 27, is due for launch this week, the company appears to be working on another Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone, the same chipset which powered its original Signature flagship. The upcoming phone, identified by the model number XT2771-1 and referred to as the Moto One, has surfaced on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification database, revealing its design and wireless charging capabilities. It has also appeared on Geekbench with some of its performance specifications.
Motorola Moto One design
The certification renders show the phone in a dark green finish, with a flat-looking display, a centred punch-hole cutout and a square rear camera module. The latter houses four circular elements arranged in a 2×2 layout. The design shares some similarities with the original Motorola Signature, especially its square camera island and olive-green finish. However, the new phone has a different camera arrangement and looks distinct from the Signature 27, which adopts a wider rear camera housing. There’s a bit of a design similarity with the Motorola Edge 70, also, especially in terms of colour.
Motorola Moto One specifications
The WPC listing identifies the device as the Moto One. However, it’s unclear whether this is its final retail name or a placeholder used during development. Motorola previously had a One series of smartphones launched in 2018, but there’s no confirmation that the company is reviving the lineup. The listing confirms Qi EPP certification with up to 15W wireless charging. For context, the Motorola Signature supports 50W wireless charging and 90W wired charging. The certification doesn’t establish the Moto One’s maximum proprietary wireless charging speed.

Meanwhile, the Geekbench listing identifies the phone’s processor as Qualcomm SM8845, which corresponds to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. It features an octa-core CPU with two cores clocked at 3.80GHz and six cores running at 3.32GHz, alongside an Adreno 829 GPU. The listing also shows 10.9GB of available memory, suggesting a 12GB RAM variant, and Android 16.

The device has scored 2,109 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 8,586 points in the multi-core test. These are preliminary benchmark results and may change with subsequent software builds.
The model number itself isn’t new. XT2771-1 appeared in an earlier Motorola device-tracking list published by Japanese publication S-MAX in September 2026, where it was associated with the internal codename Pike26. The Geekbench record also carries an August 7th, 2026 upload date, suggesting that the phone had been undergoing testing several months before its latest certification.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is also found in the Motorola Signature, giving the moto one a potentially strong performance foundation. However, it sits below Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This could make the new phone an interesting alternative to flagship devices using the more expensive Elite-series chips, depending on its eventual pricing. For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered Motorola Signature launched in India at Rs 59,999.
Motorola has yet to reveal the phone’s camera specifications, display details, battery capacity or launch timeline, so those interested in the phone should wait for more information.
