Highlights
  • Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is getting some major hardware upgrades.
  • It will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, the biggest in the Edge lineup so far.
  • The smartphone also supports 4K video recording on all cameras.

Shortly after teasing the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion India launch, the brand has started teasing key details about the phone on Flipkart. It plans to do more reveals leading up to the launch, but we already have a good chunk of the Edge 70 Fusion’s specifications. Motorola has yet to announce the launch date for the Edge 70 Fusion in India, but it’s expected to take place in early March. It will be the second device in the Edge 70 series and is expected to be among the most affordable offerings in the lineup.

Coming to the officially revealed specifications, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion has been teased with a strong emphasis on camera and display upgrades. It is being touted as the world’s first smartphone to feature the 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor, promising ultra-clear low-light images, improved highlight control in videos, and Pantone-validated colours and skin tones. The main camera is paired with a 13MP ultra-wide lens that doubles as a macro and depth camera, while a 32MP front camera takes care of selfies. Notably, all cameras support 4K video recording. Motorola is also highlighting Moto AI features, including AI photo enhancement and adaptive video stabilisation.

On the front, the device sports a 144Hz 1.5K quad-curved display with a claimed 5,200 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support. Powering the package is a massive 7,000mAh battery with up to 52 hours of claimed usage, backed by 68W fast charging. Despite the large battery, the phone maintains a slim 7.99mm profile and comes in Pantone-curated shades such as Silhouette, Blue Surf, and Country Air, all featuring leather-inspired back panels.

Compared to the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, the new model appears to push boundaries further, particularly in battery capacity, peak brightness, and imaging hardware. While the Edge 60 Fusion already delivered a curved display and capable cameras in the mid-range segment, the Edge 70 Fusion seems to refine the formula with a more advanced sensor, bigger battery, and expanded AI capabilities, positioning it as a more ambitious and feature-packed successor rather than just an incremental refresh.

Based on the details confirmed so far, the Edge 70 Fusion will make a compelling option for those who prioritise battery longevity and camera performance, especially those who consume a lot of video content or shoot frequently in varied lighting conditions. However, if ultra-fast charging speeds or advanced telephoto zoom capabilities are key considerations, it may be worth evaluating competing options in the same price band before making a decision.

Motorola plans to reveal more details on March 2nd, following which the phone should debut soon. The Edge 60 Fusion launched in India at Rs 20,999, but with increasing prices in the smartphone industry, the Edge 70 Fusion may also sit in a slightly higher price segment.
