Nothing co-founder denies exit report, says Phone (4b) broke sales records instead

Highlights

Nothing is pushing back hard against a report claiming the company is exiting more than a dozen global markets. Digit reported, citing multiple sources, that Nothing is contracting its global footprint, cutting headcount, and managing internal financial strain, even as its India business posts strong growth. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has since denied the report on X, calling it “fake news” and disputing several of its specifics.

What the report claimed

According to Digit, Nothing is in the process of shutting down operations in 12 or more markets, including the Middle East, Japan, and parts of Europe. The report cited a 40 percent reduction in global headcount, with Nothing’s R&D unit, split between China and London, facing layoffs of roughly 50 percent and 30 to 40 percent respectively in each location.
