Nothing Phone (4a), Phone (4b) get new 6GB RAM variants in India to lower starting price
Nothing has added cheaper base configurations to its latest Phone (4a) and Phone (4b) models in India, creating a lower entry point without changing the phones’ hardware. This comes as the models became considerably more expensive than their launch prices, as the company raised rates across the lineup amid higher memory and storage costs.
Nothing Phone 4a, 4b variants pricing
The Nothing Phone (4a) now starts at Rs 39,999 for 6GB + 128GB storage variant, while the Phone (4b) starts at Rs 35,999 for the same 6GB + 128GB configuration. Both are available through Flipkart. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro still starts at 8GB RAM at Rs 49,999.

The Phone (4b) continues to be sold in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations at Rs 39,999 and Rs 40,999, respectively. The Phone (4a) gets 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants, priced up to Rs 50,999.

The new configurations are an interesting response to the current pricing environment. The Phone (4a), for example, originally launched at Rs 31,999 for 8GB + 128GB, while the Phone (4b) launched at Rs 34,999 for 8GB + 128GB. Instead of cutting the price of existing variants, Nothing is reducing RAM in the new base models while retaining 128GB storage. This gives Nothing a lower price while allowing the higher RAM variants to retain their positioning. It also reflects the pressure brands are facing from rising memory costs, which have pushed several 2026 smartphone launches into higher price brackets.
Specifications and features
The specifications remain unchanged. The Nothing Phone (4a) has a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. It packs a 5,400mAh battery, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and runs Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.1.
The Nothing Phone (4b) has a 6.77-inch 120Hz Samsung Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and a larger 6,000mAh battery. Both phones feature Nothing’s Glyph Bar interface.
The new 6GB variants also change the value equation between the two models. The Phone (4b) is Rs 4,000 cheaper than the new base Phone (4a), while the latter offers a faster chipset and more capable display and camera hardware. In the wider market, the Phone (4a) competes with phones such as the Motorola Edge 70 Pro, OnePlus Nord CE 6 and Redmi Note 17 Pro around the Rs 35,000 – Rs 40,000 range.
The new 6GB models make sense mainly for those buyers who want into the Nothing ecosystem at a lower upfront cost. However, the 8GB variants are worth comparing carefully, particularly when discounts bring them closer to the new 6GB prices. Buyers prioritising long-term use, multitasking or gaming may also have more reason to spend on the higher RAM configuration rather than treating the new base models as straightforward upgrades in value.
