Not just OnePlus 15, the OnePlus 15s could be the compact flagship to watch

Highlights
  • OnePlus 15s is expected to house a massive 7,000mAh battery.
  • It will retain the same 6.3-inch display as the OnePlus 13s.
  • OnePlus has yet to officially tease the 15s.

OnePlus has officially teased the OnePlus 15 as its next flagship, and it’s already shaping up to be a powerhouse with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, upgraded cameras, a sturdy design, and a large battery. But it’s not the only device fans should be excited about. The compact OnePlus 15s is also expected to bring notable upgrades, building on the popularity of the OnePlus 13s.

The OnePlus 15s has started making rounds in the rumour mill, with early leaks hinting at some major enhancements. The most striking one is its battery, tipped to be a massive 7,000mAh despite the smaller form factor. For context, the OnePlus 13s already carried a sizeable 5,850mAh unit that easily powered through a full day and beyond. A 7,000mAh pack paired with upgraded 100W fast charging could extend usage close to two days, setting a new benchmark among compact flagships. This is another upgrade, as the OnePlus 13s comes with 80W fast charging support.

This direction highlights OnePlus’s growing focus on compact flagships, a segment where it is slowly building strong user loyalty by balancing portability with top-tier hardware, as we have seen this year with the OnePlus 13s.

The OnePlus 15s’ performance is also expected to get a lift with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which promises 20 percent faster speeds and 35 percent better efficiency than the previous generation. The OnePlus 13s with the Snapdragon 8 Elite was already among the top-performing phones in its class, and the new chip could make the 15s even more capable for both everyday tasks and heavy-duty workloads.

Another likely improvement is the shift to an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from the optical version used in the 13s. Ultrasonic sensors are faster, more accurate, and work reliably even with wet or dirty fingers. By creating a 3D map of your fingerprint, they also offer stronger security against duplication.

OnePlus 15s will continue with the compact form factor, based on early leaks. It’s tipped to feature the same 6.3-inch display like the 13s. Its design will also most likely remain the same as the OnePlus 15 will adopt a similar look with a smaller square-shaped camera module.

OnePlus 15 new camera design

With the kind of upgrades rumoured, the OnePlus 15s could easily become the go-to choice for those who prefer a compact flagship without compromising on performance or battery life. If you’ve been holding out for a smaller premium phone, this might be worth waiting for, especially if OnePlus manages to refine the camera system. From a brand standpoint, OnePlus seems to be doubling down on what made the 13s successful: owning the compact flagship space at a time when most competitors are chasing size and specs over usability. It’s a smart move that keeps the 15s relevant and eagerly anticipated.

OnePlus hasn’t hinted at the OnePlus 15s yet, but it may follow the 15 series launch. The OnePlus 13s arrived in India this June, following its debut as the 13T in China two months earlier. If the company sticks to that pattern, the 15s could be expected sometime in the first half of 2026. It could arrive earlier, in fact, as the OnePlus 15 series is rumoured to debut in India this November, two months earlier than when the OnePlus 13 series arrived in January.
