OnePlus 15T specs leak hints at larger battery and wireless charging, while display and cameras remain unchanged

Highlights
  • OnePlus 15T will be the brand’s second compact phone.
  • It’s tipped to launch as the OnePlus 15s in India.
  • New leak reveals key details of the OnePlus 15T.

OnePlus appears to be sticking to its compact-flagship playbook with the upcoming OnePlus 15T, which is now tipped to launch in March in China. A new leak suggests that the phone will focus on refinement rather than reinvention from its predecessor, the OnePlus 13T. The compact phone made its way to India as the OnePlus 13s. However, it’s rumoured that the OnePlus 15s (OnePlus 15T) might have been cancelled for India. More on that later.

The latest details for the OnePlus 15T come from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who has said that the smartphone will feature a 6.32-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, keeping it firmly in the compact premium category. That screen size is identical to the 13T, suggesting no changes, but the refresh rate could get a bump as the OnePlus 15 series offers a 144Hz display.

The camera setup too sounds very familiar as the OnePlus 15T is said to pack a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto camera, along with a 16MP selfie shooter. This might sound disappointing to some, as OnePlus is still not including a third camera on the 15T, and the selfie camera has been dropped from 32MP to 16MP. OnePlus could still improve image quality through newer sensors or updated image processing, something the brand has quietly done in the past.

Performance is expected to get a more meaningful upgrade. The OnePlus 15T is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which would put it right at the top of the Android performance ladder for 2026. More interesting, however, is the battery. Leaks suggest a capacity between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh, which would be the largest battery ever fitted into a phone of this size. That’s a notable jump from the 13T’s 6260mAh battery, and points to the wider industry trend of using new battery tech to dramatically improve endurance without increasing phone thickness.

Wireless charging is also expected to debut on the 15T, which would give the phone a premium experience. Earlier rumours claim the phone will weigh around 194g and come in distinctive colour options like Relaxing Matcha, Healing White Chocolate, and Pure Cocoa. Memory and storage configurations could go as high as 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, keeping it competitive with other premium flagships.

The OnePlus 15T looks like a phone aimed at users who liked the idea of the 13T but wanted better battery life and more modern conveniences like wireless charging. If OnePlus prices it aggressively, the 15T could appeal strongly to buyers who want flagship-level performance and endurance in a compact body, without moving to larger Pro models. In a market where most premium phones continue to grow in size, the OnePlus 15T could stand out simply by staying small and sensible, while quietly fixing the gaps left by its predecessor.

Following its launch in China, the OnePlus 15T was widely expected to arrive in India as the OnePlus 15s. However, recent reports suggest that the India launch may no longer be on the cards, with rumours claiming a high probability of cancellation. At the same time, speculation has surfaced about OnePlus scaling back or shutting down operations in India. However, the company has officially clarified that its India business will continue as usual. Until there is an official announcement, it would be prudent to treat these developments with caution rather than draw firm conclusions.
