OnePlus Ace 6T is launching in China this month as the third phone in the brand’s flagship lineup, and the first-ever ‘T’ model in the Ace series. Touted as a spiritual successor to the iconic OnePlus 6T, the upcoming device is set to debut as the world’s first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which launches in China on November 26th. With OnePlus steadily revealing more details, the Ace 6T is shaping up to be an intriguing addition, potentially even more compelling than the flagship OnePlus 15.
Like the OnePlus 15, the Ace 6T is also confirmed to come with four IP ratings — IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, the highest protection against dust and water, even high-pressure jets. The smartphone will also feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor like the flagship model. This is a more secure and accurate fingerprint technology than the optical fingerprint sensor.
More similarities include a 165Hz refresh rate on the OnePlus Ace 6T with support for 165fps gaming as well. The same is available on the OnePlus 15, and we were highly impressed with its gaming experience. It’s not clear if the Ace 6T will also come with the same gaming technology, but since the device is being touted as “a new choice for performance flagships”, it’s likely OnePlus will add them.

Battery details of the OnePlus Ace 6T haven’t been revealed yet, but the brand claims that the handset will have “the longest battery life with an 8-series battery.” The OnePlus Ace 6 already packs a massive 7,800mAh battery. If the Ace 6T wants to outdo it, then it might pack an 8,000mAh battery. But that’s just speculation for now. As for fast charging, the Ace 6T is confirmed to support up to 100W, which is slightly lower than the OnePlus 15’s 120W. Still, with a bigger battery, the setup would be more than enough.
The chipset would also be a differentiator between the OnePlus 15 and the Ace 6T. The latter is getting the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which is based on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Details aren’t official yet, but early benchmark scores put the Ace 6T close in competition to the OnePlus 15. As per a Geekbench listing believed to be the Ace 6T running Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, it gets a single-core score of 2,981 and a multi-core score of 10,136. In comparison, the OnePlus 15 posted a single-core score of 3,579 and a multi-core score of 10,575 on Geekbench, as per our internal testing. This suggests that there might be minimal to no noticeable difference between the two phones’ performance.
What makes the Ace 6T interesting is also its comparison to the erstwhile OnePlus 6T. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Ace 6T will embody the 6T with all the flagship-level features and a similar electric purple colour. The Ace 6T is also tipped to launch in Flash Black and Shadow Green. A Genshin Impact collaboration might also be on the cards for the OnePlus Ace 6T, making it the second one after the OnePlus 12R.
The OnePlus 15 will continue to be the premium offering from the brand, but the Ace 6T is shaping up to be an interesting addition with most features similar to the 15 and flagship-grade specifications. There’s also speculation that the Ace 6T will launch as the OnePlus 15R in India. If so, then the Ace 6T would be a highly anticipated smartphone for anyone looking for a flagship-level device without the premium price tag. We’re yet to know its camera details, but the Ace 6T seems to be more tailored for power users.
