OnePlus is gearing up to launch its mid-range Nord lineup in India this week, starting with the Nord 6. It’s also expected to expand this series with two more phones — OnePlus Nord CE 6 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite. Both phones are tipped to arrive in May, with a focus on performance and endurance. This is typically what OnePlus has offered with its Nord lineup in the mid-range category. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is already rumoured to house a large 8,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM, and a refreshed design in line with the flagship OnePlus 15 series. Now, details about the Nord CE 6 Lite have surfaced online, giving us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming phone.
According to a report by Smartprix, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite will feature a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, a popular chipset for budget phones that is suitable for regular usage. The highlight here would be its 7,000mAh battery, which should easily last for more than a day on regular and moderate usage.
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is also expected to house a 50MP main camera with an auxiliary sensor, and a 16MP front camera for selfies. On the software front, it will most likely ship with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box. Design details haven’t been revealed yet, but the Nord CE 6 Lite is tipped to feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The report adds that the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite will launch the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage under Rs 23,000. Launch offers will reportedly bring the price below the Rs 20,000 mark. Another interesting bit is that the Nord CE 6 Lite will launch without a charger in the box, which would make it a first for OnePlus. The move is being seen as a way to keep the desired price tag but still manage rising component costs.
Based on the leaked specifications of the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, the phone appears to be costlier than what it offers, and this is compounded by the absence of a bundled charger, which means additional expenditure for the buyer. However, considering the ongoing situation in the smartphone industry, where companies are increasing the prices of existing phones and launching newer models at significantly higher prices, it’s not entirely surprising that OnePlus is following a similar route.
With the launch expected to take place in May, details about the Nord CE 6 Lite should be revealed soon. The smartphone may seem worth waiting for if you’ve been wanting to get a OnePlus phone in the budget segment. But if you need to purchase a phone soon, then some alternatives can be considered in the same price range or lower.
