  • To recall, the Nord CE 5 offers a 7,100mAh battery.
  • The phone will come in Black and White colour variants.
  • OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite will arrive in May, but an exact launch date is still unknown.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite appear to be the brand’s next mid-range smartphones for India, following the upcoming Nord 6. Amid recent reports around OnePlus shutting down in some global markets, the company continues to strengthen its India pipeline.

Now, 91mobiles has exclusively learned that the OnePlus Nord CE 6 will feature an 8,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM, and at least two colour options. The phone is also tipped to launch in May.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 battery and RAM details revealed

Industry sources have told 91mobiles that the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 6 will pack an 8,000mAh battery, likely of the silicon-carbon variety. This would be larger than the 7,100mAh battery in its predecessor, the Nord CE 5. Large battery capacities are emerging as a key trend in 2026, and OnePlus appears to be leaning into it, as the upcoming Nord 6 will also pack a massive 9,000mAh battery.

Last year’s Nord CE 5 impressed us with its battery endurance, offering a day and a half worth of battery life on a single charge. The phone also performed impressively in the PCMark battery test, scoring over 16 hours of endurance. This could allow OnePlus to push for two-day battery claims, depending on optimisation.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 will come with 8GB of RAM, likely the base variant. We expect to see a 12GB RAM option as well, but there’s no word on this yet. Additionally, we have learned that the Nord CE 6 will come in at least two colour options: Black and White.

Other specifications of the Nord CE 6 are still under wraps.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite will launch in May 2026

Tipster Mukul Sharma posted on X today that the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite will launch in India in May 2026. We don’t have the exact launch date at the moment, but this should mean OnePlus might start officially teasing the phones in April, after the launch of the Nord 6. The post also gives us our first live look at the Nord CE 6’s design, revealing a dual rear camera system on a squircle module and a matte-black finish.

In addition to details around the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite, OnePlus India today also announced that it is expanding its after-sales service network to over 600 centres. These developments should settle concerns regarding OnePlus’ operations in India.

In recent weeks, there have reports that OnePlus is planning to exit certain global markets, likely in Europe and the US amid an ongoing restructuring at OPPO. Additionally, OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu stepped down from his role this week, adding to speculation about OnePlus’ future in India. However, OnePlus India recently stated that its operations in India will “continue with local strategy and business continuity ensured.”

With the Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 in the pipeline, OnePlus appears to be doubling down on the mid-range segment in India. While the Nord 6 is expected to target the sub-Rs 40,000 segment, the Nord CE 6 will likely sit below it.

However, with smartphone prices rising across the board, the Nord CE 6 may see a slight price increase compared to its predecessor. Still, if battery life is important for you and if you’re in the market for an affordable, potentially sub-Rs 30,000 phone, the Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite might be worth waiting for.
