OPPO’s next flagship foldable could arrive in early 2027 with a major hardware upgrade. A new leak suggests the OPPO Find N7 is already in testing and may become one of the first foldable smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. It will succeed the Find N6 (review), which made its debut earlier this year in March. The Find N7 will be different, though, as it’s expected to adopt a wider book-style form factor, similar to the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide) and Apple’s anticipated foldable iPhone.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OPPO Find N7 is currently being tested with the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950), which Qualcomm is expected to unveil later this year alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. If the leak is accurate, the Find N7 could be the first foldable powered by the new chipset.
The tipster also claims OPPO is testing an on-device AI accelerator for the handset, signalling a stronger focus on AI-powered features. In addition, the foldable is said to pack a battery with a capacity beginning with the digit “6”, with current engineering prototypes reportedly targeting a 6,500mAh battery. That would be a noticeable upgrade over the 6,000mAh battery on the OPPO Find N6 and could give the Find N7 an advantage over rival book-style foldables, which typically offer smaller battery capacities.
The leak further suggests the OPPO Find N7 will launch in the first quarter of 2027, mirroring the release schedule of its predecessor. The OPPO Find N6 debuted in March 2026 at a starting price of CNY 9,999 (Rs. 1.34 lakh approx).
While these details remain unconfirmed, the leak suggests OPPO is focusing on improving battery life, AI capabilities, and performance rather than making incremental changes. Buyers considering a premium foldable in 2027 may want to keep an eye on the Find N7, especially if long battery life and flagship hardware are high on their priority list.
